Barron City is a city in the Barron County, Wisconsin, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 3248 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 3122, making it the 174th most populous in Wisconsin. The city encompasses an area of 2.84 square miles (7.36 square kilometre ), of which, 2.76 square miles (7.15 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 240th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3248 people, 76 households, and 48 families living in the city. The population density was 1176.7 people per square mile (454.33/kmē), it is 191st most densely populated city in Wisconsin. There were 1442 housing units at an average density of 522.5 per square mile (201.74/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.83. In the Barron City, 23.5% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.9% were 18 to 24, 26.6% were 25 to 44, 19.8% were 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.5 males. The median age is 38 years, the median age of male residents at 35 and the median age of female residents at 41.3. The racial makeup of the city was 3148 White, 20 Black or African American, 5 American Indian, 8 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, 28 from two or more races and 34 Ohter races.
