Barrett City is a city located in Grant County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 355. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 344, It is the 554th most populous in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It covers total area of 2.1 miē (5.44 kmē), of which, 2.06 square miles (5.34 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 302nd largest by total area in Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 355 residents, 142 households, and 82 families in the city. The population density was 172.2 people per square mile (66.49/kmē), it is the 155th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
