Baraga Village is a city located in Baraga County, Michigan, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1285 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1185, making it the 392nd most populous in Michigan. The city spans an area of 2.28 mi˛ (5.91 sq km), of which, 2.26 square miles (5.85 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 295th largest by total area among Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1285 people in the city, organized into 544 households, and 327 families residing in the city. The population density was 569.6 people per square mile (219.92/km˛), making it the 131st least densely populated city in Michigan. There were 605 housing units at an average density of 267.7 per square mile (103.36/km˛). The average household size was 2.34 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 27.2% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 22% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 87.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.4 males. The median age was 36.9 years, the median age of male residents at 35.5 and the median age of female residents at 40.3. The racial makeup of the city was 884 White, 2 Black or African American, 308 American Indian, 8 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 79 from two or more races and 4 Ohter races.
