Bannock County is one of the 44 county of Idaho, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 75565 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 80812, It is the fifth most populous county in the U.S. state of Idaho. It has total area of 1147.46 square miles (2971.91 square kilometre), of which, 1113.3 square miles (2883.43 square kilometre) of it is land and 34.16 square miles (88.47 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 27th largest by total area in Idaho. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 75565 residents, 27192 households, and 19213 families in the county. The population density was 67.9 people per square mile (26.22/kmē), it would be the fourth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Idaho. There were 29102 housing units at an average density of 26.1 per square mile (10.08/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.69 persons, and the average family size was 3.2 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 28.1% under the age of 18, 14.6% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 20% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 80812, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 74870 White, 705 Black or African American, 2697 American Indian, 993 Asian, 145 Native Hawaiian, and 1402 from two or more races.
