Bangor City is a city located in the Penobscot County, Maine, United States. The population of the city was 31473 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 31756, making it the third most populous in Maine. Its area is just over 34.74 sq mi (89.98 kmē), of which, 34.45 square miles (89.23 kmē) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 kmē) of it is water, making it the 13th largest by size in Maine.
