Bancroft Town is one of the town of Putnam County, West Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Bancroft Town is home to 367 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 376, It is the 51st smallest by population in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The town has a total area of 0.15 mi˛ (0.39 sq km), of which, 0.14 square miles (0.36 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the sixth smallest by area in the U.S. state of West Virginia.
