Baltimore City is a one of the independent city from Maryland's 24 counties and independent city, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the independent city was 651154 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 636919, making it Maryland's fourth largest independent city. It has total area of 92.08 sq mi (238.49 sq km), of which, 80.8 square miles (209.27 sq km) of it is land and 11.27 square miles (29.19 sq km) of it is water, making it Maryland's smallest independent city by total area.
