Balsam Lake Village is a city located in Polk County, Wisconsin, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 950 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1031, making it Wisconsin's 380th largest. The city comprises an area of 3.27 sq mi (8.47 square kilometre), of which, 2.03 square miles (5.26 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.25 square miles (3.24 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 204th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 950 people, 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 469.1 people per square mile (181.12/kmē), it would be the 169th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. There were 673 housing units at an average density of 331.5 per square mile (127.99/kmē). The average household size was 2.1 persons, and the average family size was 2.62 persons. In the city Age distribution was 18.2% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 24.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 94.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 95.7 females. The median age is 45.5 years, The median age of males was 40.9 years, for females the median age was 48.4 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 912 White, Black or African American, 28 American Indian, 2 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 6 from two or more races and Ohter races.
