Baker County, Oregon is a county located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. Baker County had an official population of 16741 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 15983, It is the ninth least populous county in the U.S. state of Oregon. The county spans an area of 3088.43 mi˛ (7999 sq km), of which, 3068.12 square miles (7946.39 sq km) of it is land and 20.32 square miles (52.63 sq km) of it is water, it is the tenth largest in terms of geographical size.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 15983, The racial makeup of the county was 96.3% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 1.31% American Indian, 0.48% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.55% from two or more races.
