Baker County, Florida is a county of the United States of Florida. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 22259 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 26164 in July 2008, It is the 16th smallest in terms of population. It covers total area of 588.89 sq mi (1525.22 sq km), of which, 585.21 square miles (1515.69 sq km) of it is land and 3.67 square miles (9.51 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 12th smallest by total area among Florida's county.

The population density was 38 people per square mile (14.67/kmē), it would be the 16th least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Florida. There were 7592 housing units at an average density of 13 per square mile (5.02/kmē). The average household size was 2.86 persons, and the average family size was 3.2 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 27.5% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 110.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 112.4 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 26164, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 84.3% White, 13.94% Black or African American, 0.37% American Indian, 0.37% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.99% from two or more races.
