Bacon County is a county in the United States of Georgia. In 2000, the population was 10103. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 10442, making it Georgia's 36th smallest county. The county has a total area of 285.92 square miles (740.53 sq km), of which, 284.95 square miles (738.02 sq km) of it is land and 0.97 square miles (2.51 sq km) of it is water, it is the 104th largest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10103 people, 3833 households, and 2815 families residing in the county. The population density was 35.5 people per square mile (13.71/kmē), it is 49th least densely populated county in Georgia. There were 4464 housing units at an average density of 15.7 per square mile (6.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 people, and the average family size was 3.03 people. In the county Age distribution was 26.2% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 28% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 104 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 109.4 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 10442, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 8416 White, 1828 Black or African American, 20 American Indian, 72 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 106 from two or more races.
