Awendaw Town is one of the town of Charleston County, South Carolina, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1195 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1189, making it South Carolina's 215th largest. It covers total area of 8.45 sq mi (21.89 sq km), of which, 8.28 square miles (21.45 sq km) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 55th largest by total area among South Carolina.
