Avoyelles Parish is a parish in the United States of Louisiana. The population of parish in 2000 stood at 41481 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 42360, It is 27th most populous parish in Louisiana. The parish extends throughout a territory of 865.67 sq mi (2242.08 sq km ), of which, 832.44 square miles (2156.01 sq km) of it is land and 33.24 square miles (86.09 sq km) of it is water, it is the 22nd largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
