Avon-by-the-sea Borough is one of the borough of Monmouth County, New Jersey, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 2244. The July 2008 population estimate is 2201, It is New Jersey's 105th smallest by population . Its area is just over 0.55 mi˛ (1.42 square kilometre), of which, 0.43 square miles (1.11 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 25th smallest by total area.
