Augusta City is a city located in Bracken County, Kentucky, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The city has a population of 1204 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1253, giving it the 217th largest population among Kentucky. It is spread over 1.65 sq mi (4.27 kmē), of which, 1.22 square miles (3.16 kmē ) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 kmē) of it is water, it is the 206th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1204 residents, 534 households, and 330 families in the city. The population density was 990.9 people per square mile (382.59/kmē), it is the 257th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 605 housing units at an average density of 495.9 per square mile (191.47/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons.
