Audubon County, Iowa is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 6830 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6033, It is Iowa's third least populous county. The county has a total area of 443.58 sq mi (1148.87 kmē), of which, 443.13 square miles (1147.7 kmē) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 kmē) of it is water, making it the 21st smallest by size in Iowa.

The population density was 15.4 people per square mile (5.95/kmē), it is the eighth least populated county in terms of population density. In the Audubon County, 25.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 5% were 18 to 24, 22.7% were 25 to 44, 22.9% were 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 or older.
