Audrain County is a one of the county from Missouri's 115 counties and independent city, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Audrain County had an official population of 25853 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 26049, It is the 41st most populous county in the U.S. state of Missouri. The county encompasses an area of 696.79 sq mi (1804.68 sq km ), of which, 693.1 square miles (1795.12 sq km) of it is land and 3.69 square miles (9.56 sq km) of it is water, making it Missouri's 33rd largest county by total area.

The population density was 37.3 people per square mile (14.4/kmē), it is the 49th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Missouri. There were 10881 housing units at an average density of 15.7 per square mile (6.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.43 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 84.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.7 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 26049, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 23396 White, 2168 Black or African American, 88 American Indian, 102 Asian, 10 Native Hawaiian, and 285 from two or more races.
