Auburn City is a city in the Placer County, California, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 12462 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 13219, making it the 397th most populous in California. The city has a total area of 7.4 mi˛ (19.17 square kilometre), of which, 7.37 square miles (19.09 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 421st largest in terms of geographical size.
