Attala County is one of the 82 county of Mississippi, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 19661 as per the Census data. Its population was estimated at 19671 in July 2008, giving it the 50th largest population among Mississippi's county. Its area is just over 737.1 sq mi (1909.08 kmē), of which, 735.13 square miles (1903.98 kmē) of it is land and 1.97 square miles (5.1 kmē) of it is water, making it the 15th largest by size in Mississippi.
