Atoka City is a city located in the Atoka County, Oklahoma, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 2988 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 3101, making it the 105th most populous in Oklahoma. The city has a total area of 8.49 square miles (21.99 sq km), of which, 8.42 square miles (21.81 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's 123rd largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2988 people in the city, organized into 1277 households, and 736 families residing in the city. The population density was 354.7 people per square mile (136.95/kmē), it is Oklahoma's 443rd most densely populated city. There were 1499 housing units at an average density of 178 per square mile (68.73/kmē). The average household size was 2.22 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons.
