Atlantic Beach Town is a one of the Carteret County, North Carolina, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the town was 1781 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 1815, making it the 287th most populous in North Carolina. It covers total area of 2.36 mi˛ (6.11 square kilometre), of which, 2.14 square miles (5.54 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 340th largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1781 residents, 971 households, and 498 families in the town. The population density was 831 people per square mile (320.85/km˛), it is the 266th most densely populated town in the U.S. state of North Carolina. There were 4728 housing units at an average density of 2209.3 per square mile (853.02/km˛). The average household size was 1.82 persons, and the average family size was 2.33 persons. In the town the population was spread out, with 9.8% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 38.8% from 45 to 64, and 18.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 112 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 111.2 males. The median age is 48.7 years, the median age of male residents at 47.7 and the median age of female residents at 49.3. The racial makeup of the town was 1746 White, 11 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 13 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 7 from two or more races and Ohter races.
