Ashford City is a one of the Houston County, Alabama, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1853 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 2062, It is Alabama's 203rd largest by population . The city spans an area of 6.11 sq mi (15.82 square kilometre), of which, 6.1 square miles (15.8 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 212th largest by size in Alabama.
