Arvada City is a city located in Jefferson and Adams counties, Colorado, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of the city was 102153 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 107361, making it the sixth most populous in Colorado. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 32.84 mi˛ (85.06 sq km), of which, 32.66 square miles (84.59 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, it is the 17th largest by area in the U.S. state of Colorado.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 102153 people, 39019 households, and 27759 families residing in the city. The population density was 3128.1 people per square mile (1207.77/km˛), it is the 26th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Colorado. There were 39733 housing units at an average density of 1216.6 per square mile (469.73/km˛). The average household size was 2.6 and the average family size was 3.07. Age range in the city was well distributed with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 or older. The median age is 37.2 years, the median age of male residents at 36.2 and the median age of female residents at 38. The racial makeup of the city was 91.04% White, 0.66% Black or African American, 0.65% American Indian, 2.17% Asian, 0.07% Native Hawaiian, 2.34% from two or more races and 3.08% Other races.
