Anna Maria City is a city in the Manatee County, Florida, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1814 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1829 in July 2008, It is the 245th least populous in the U.S. state of Florida. The city encompasses an area of 0.99 mi˛ (2.56 square kilometre ), of which, 0.78 square miles (2.02 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Florida's 146th smallest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1814 residents, 897 households, and 572 families in the city. The population density was 2338.3 people per square mile (902.82/km˛), it is the 334th most populated city in terms of population density. There were 1538 housing units at an average density of 1971.8 per square mile (761.32/km˛). The average household size was 2.02 persons, and the average family size was 2.46 persons. In the city Age distribution was 12.5% under the age of 18, 3.3% from 18 to 24, 14.9% from 25 to 44, 36.2% from 45 to 64, and 33.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.3 males.
