Ankeny City is a city located in Polk County, Iowa, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 27117 as per the 2000 census data. The city extends throughout a territory of 16.77 square miles (43.43 sq km ), making it Iowa's 18th largest by total area.
