Androscoggin County is a county located in the United States of Maine. In 2000, the population was 103793. The July 2008 population estimate is 106877, It is the fifth most populous county in the U.S. state of Maine. It covers total area of 497.23 sq mi (1287.82 kmē), of which, 470.27 square miles (1217.99 kmē) of it is land and 26.95 square miles (69.8 kmē) of it is water, it is the second smallest by area in the U.S. state of Maine.

The population density was 220.7 people per square mile (85.21/kmē), it is second most densely populated county in Maine. There were 45960 housing units at an average density of 97.7 per square mile (37.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.91. Age range in the county was well distributed with 23.9% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 106877, The racial makeup of the county was 102290 White, 2037 Black or African American, 369 American Indian, 714 Asian, 53 Native Hawaiian, and 1414 from two or more races.
