The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 10142, It is the 210th most populous in the U.S. state of Texas. Its area is just over 4.79 mi˛ (12.41 square kilometre), of which, 4.78 square miles (12.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 439th largest by total area in Texas.
