Anderson County is a county located in the United States of South Carolina. As of 2000 the population was 165740. In July 2008, its estimated population was 182825, making it South Carolina's eighth largest county. It has total area of 757.45 miē (1961.79 kmē), of which, 718.02 square miles (1859.66 kmē) of it is land and 39.43 square miles (102.12 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 16th largest by total area among South Carolina's county.

The population density was 230.8 people per square mile (89.11/kmē), it is seventh most densely populated county in South Carolina.
