Anchorage City is a United States city located in the Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. In 2000, city's population was 2264 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 3288, giving it the 155th largest population among Kentucky. It is spread over 3.05 mi˛ (7.9 square kilometre), of which, 3.04 square miles (7.87 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 140th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2264 residents, 729 households, and 644 families in the city. The population density was 744 people per square mile (287.26/km˛), giving it the 153rd least densely populated city among the Kentucky. There were 750 housing units at an average density of 246.7 per square mile (95.25/km˛). The average household size was 3.09 people, and the average family size was 3.33 people. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 35% under the age of 18, 4% from 18 to 24, 20.8% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.5 males. The median age of the city's population was 40.2 years, The median age of males was 40.7 years, for females the median age was 39.7 years. The racial makeup of the city was 97.13% White, 0.84% Black or African American, 0% American Indian, 1.33% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.44% from two or more races and 0.27% Other races.
