The population of census designated place in 2000 stood at 1845 as per the Census data. It is 37th most populous in Alaska. Its area is just over 90.9 mi˛ (235.43 sq km), of which, 90.79 square miles (235.15 sq km) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 sq km) of it is water, making it the 70th largest by size in Alaska.
