Anamosa City is one of the city of Jones County, Iowa, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 5494 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 5736, It is 66th most populous in Iowa. The city encompasses an area of 2.25 mi˛ (5.83 sq km ), of which, 2.24 square miles (5.8 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 166th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 2453.4 people per square mile (947.26/km˛), it is the tenth most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Iowa.
