Ammon City is a United States city located in the Bonneville County, Idaho, United States. The city has a population of 6187 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 13646, giving it the 25th largest population among Idaho. The city spans an area of 2.92 mi˛ (7.56 sq km), makes it the 41st largest by total area in Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6187 people in the city, organized into 1843 households, and 1546 families living in the city. The population density was 2116 people per square mile (816.99/km˛), making its Idaho's 37th most densely populated city. There were 1947 housing units at an average density of 666.8 per square mile (257.45/km˛). It has an average household size was 3.27 persons, and the average family size was 3.62 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 36.3% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 or older.
