Amite City Town is a town located in the Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of 2000 the population was 4110. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4318, It is 123rd most populous in Louisiana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.87 square miles (10.02 square kilometre), of which, 3.85 square miles (9.97 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 159th largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4110 residents, 400 households, and 290 families in the town. The population density was 1066.2 people per square mile (411.66/kmē), making its Louisiana's 138th most densely populated town. There were 1450 housing units at an average density of 376.6 per square mile (145.41/kmē). The average household size was 2.66 persons, and the average family size was 3.23 persons.
