Americus City is a one of the Sumter County, Georgia, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 17013 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 16524, making it the 44th most populous in Georgia. It covers total area of 10.68 mi˛ (27.66 sq km), of which, 10.48 square miles (27.14 sq km) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 sq km) of it is water, making it the 74th largest by size in Georgia.
