Ambridge Borough is one of the borough of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the borough was 7769 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 7024 in July 2008, making it the 162nd most populous in Pennsylvania. It has total area of 1.71 sq mi (4.43 kmē), of which, 1.48 square miles (3.83 kmē) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 kmē) of it is water, it is the 454th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7769 residents, 3595 households, and 1967 families in the borough. The population density was 5232.8 people per square mile (2020.4/kmē), giving it the 126th most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 4099 housing units at an average density of 2769.6 per square mile (1069.35/kmē). The average household size was 2.14 people, and the average family size was 2.88 people. In the borough the population was spread out, with 21.7% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 23% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 111.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 116.4 females. The median age is 40.1 years, The median age of males and females living in Ambridge Borough was 38.3 and 41.8 years respectively. The racial makeup of the borough was 85.69% White, 11.38% Black or African American, 0.08% American Indian, 0.45% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.66% from two or more races and 0.73% Other races.
