Alva City is a one of the Woods County, Oklahoma, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 5288. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 4848, making it the 65th most populous in Oklahoma. The city encompasses an area of 2.37 square miles (6.14 sq km), it is the 268th largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

The population density was 2228.6 people per square mile (860.47/kmē), it is the 11th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.
