Altoona City is one of the city of Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 6698. The July 2008 population estimate is 6753, making it the 108th most populous in Wisconsin. It is spread over 4.3 sq mi (11.14 kmē), of which, 4.09 square miles (10.59 kmē ) of it is land and 0.21 square miles (0.54 kmē) of it is water, it is the 150th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6698 people in the city, organized into 76 households, and 48 families living in the city. The population density was 1638.6 people per square mile (632.67/kmē), it is the 110th most populated city in terms of population density.
