Alta Vista City, Chickasaw County, Iowa is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 286. Its population was estimated at 265 in July 2008, It is the 612th most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. The city comprises an area of 0.76 mi˛ (1.97 sq km), it is the 481st largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.
