Alta Town is one of the town of Salt Lake County, Utah, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 370 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 374, It is the 66th smallest by population in the U.S. state of Utah. The town encompasses an area of 4.05 miē (10.49 kmē ), of which, 4.05 square miles (10.49 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, it is the 154th largest by area in the U.S. state of Utah.

As of the census of 2000, there were 370 people, 67 households, and 37 families residing in the town.
