Alligator Town is a town located in Bolivar County, Mississippi, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, town's population was 220 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 196, It is the 31st least populous in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The town encompasses an area of 1.04 square miles (2.69 sq km ), of which, 0.98 square miles (2.54 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, it is the 80th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Mississippi.

As of the census of 2000, there were 220 people, 77 households, and 59 families residing in the town. The population density was 223.7 people per square mile (86.37/kmē), giving it the 63rd least densely populated town among the Mississippi. There were 81 housing units at an average density of 82.7 per square mile (31.93/kmē). The average household size was 2.86 persons, and the average family size was 3.27 persons. The population's age distribution was 39.1% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 83.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 74 males. The median age is 29 years, the median age of male residents at 29.3 and the median age of female residents at 28.7. The racial makeup of the town was 46 White, 170 Black or African American, American Indian, Asian, Native Hawaiian, 4 from two or more races and Ohter races.
