Allen County is a county located in the United States of Indiana. As of 2000 the population was 331849. In July 2008, its estimated population was 350523, It is third most populous county in Indiana. The county spans an area of 660.1 square miles (1709.65 kmē), of which, 657.25 square miles (1702.27 kmē) of it is land and 2.85 square miles (7.38 kmē) of it is water, makes it the largest by total area in Indiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 331849 people, 128745 households, and 86235 families residing in the county. The population density was 504.9 people per square mile (194.94/kmē), it would be the fifth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Indiana. There were 138905 housing units at an average density of 211.3 per square mile (81.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.53 persons, and the average family size was 3.11 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 27.7% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 30% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.9 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 350523, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 294724 White, 41358 Black or African American, 1559 American Indian, 6817 Asian, 219 Native Hawaiian, and 5846 from two or more races.
