Alexandria City, Douglas County, Minnesota is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Alexandria City had an official population of 8820 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 11237 in July 2008, giving it the 91st largest population among Minnesota. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.36 square miles (24.24 sq km), of which, 8.89 square miles (23.02 sq km) of it is land and 0.47 square miles (1.22 sq km) of it is water, it is the 103rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
