Alexandria City is a one of the Madison County, Indiana, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 6260. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5854, It is 98th most populous in Indiana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.71 mi˛ (7.02 sq km), making it the 154th largest by size in Indiana.
