Aledo City is a city in the Mercer County, Illinois, United States. In 2000, city's population was 3613 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3565, It is Illinois's 378th largest by population . It covers total area of 2.26 sq mi (5.85 sq km), of which, 2.24 square miles (5.8 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, making it Illinois's 410th largest by total area.
