Alderson Town, Greenbrier and Monroe counties, West Virginia is a town located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 1091. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 1070, It is the 147th most populous in the U.S. state of West Virginia. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.96 sq mi (2.49 square kilometre), of which, 0.9 square miles (2.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it West Virginia's 148th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1091 people in the town, organized into 481 households, and 306 families living in the town. The population density was 1214.5 people per square mile (468.92/kmē), making its West Virginia's 130th most densely populated town. There were 586 housing units at an average density of 651.1 per square mile (251.39/kmē). The average household size was 2.27 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. In the town the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 21.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.4 males.
