Albion City is a United States city located in the Calhoun County, Michigan, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Albion City is home to 9144 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 9103, It is the 123rd largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 4.5 sq mi (11.65 kmē ), of which, 4.46 square miles (11.55 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, making it the 167th largest by size in Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9144 people in the city, organized into 3252 households, and 2061 families residing in the city. The population density was 2050.2 people per square mile (791.59/kmē), it is the 140th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Michigan. There were 3591 housing units at an average density of 805.2 per square mile (310.89/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 3.07 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 25.8% under the age of 18, 19.7% from 18 to 24, 23% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 83 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 76.2 males. The median age was 29.3 years, the median age of male residents at 27.4 and the median age of female residents at 31. The racial makeup of the city was 5582 White, 3038 Black or African American, 33 American Indian, 63 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 281 from two or more races and 147 Ohter races.
