Albemarle County, Virginia is a county of the United States of Virginia. In 2000, county's population was 79236 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 94075, It is Virginia's 18th most populous county. It is spread over 726.18 miē (1880.8 kmē), of which, 722.61 square miles (1871.55 kmē ) of it is land and 3.58 square miles (9.27 kmē) of it is water, giving it the eighth largest by total area among Virginia's county.

There were 33720 housing units at an average density of 46.7 per square mile (18.03/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. The population's age distribution was 24.8% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 30.9% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.6 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 94075, The racial makeup of the county was 83.65% White, 9.93% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 4.82% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.39% from two or more races.
