According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 16004, It is the 338th largest by population in the U.S. state of California. It covers total area of 5.47 sq mi (14.17 sq km), of which, 1.7 square miles (4.4 sq km) of it is land and 3.76 square miles (9.74 sq km) of it is water, making it the 514th largest by size in California.
