The state encompasses an area of 663267.26 square miles (1717854.32 square kilometre ), of which, 571951.26 square miles (1481346.96 square kilometre) of it is land and 91316 square miles (236507.35 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of America. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in United States.
