Alamogordo City, New Mexico is a city of the Otero County, New Mexico, United States. The city has a population of 35582 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 35757, giving it the eighth largest population among New Mexico. The city comprises an area of 19.35 sq mi (50.12 sq km), makes it the 20th largest by total area in New Mexico.
